COSMOVOYA’s connection with electronic music began in the early 1990s, at a time when discovering music was very different from today.

Coming from Oran, Algeria, access to the European electronic music scene and its resources was not as easy as it is today. There were no social networks as we know them today, and access to music, information and new releases was much more limited.

Radio was therefore one of the main gateways to new sounds, new artists and the rapidly developing electronic music culture. Monthly magazines also played an important role, covering electronic music, DJs, technology, releases and the evolution of the scene.

For COSMOVOYA, Spanish FM radio became that window into the European electronic world.

Through Spanish radio broadcasts, he discovered experimental and underground electronic sessions, as well as the emerging sounds of Dance, House, Acid House, Techno, Breakbeat and Trance. Programs such as It’s Your Time, presented by Toni Peret, as well as Mundo Evasión and other Spanish radio programs, became an important source of discovery and inspiration. Later, Sunshine Live radio also became part of this journey.

During those early years, COSMOVOYA was mainly listening to, recording and collecting electronic music. Later, as CDs became an important part of the way electronic music was exchanged and played, this naturally led him towards mixing and DJing.

Before starting the COSMOVOYA project and moving into music production, he was active as a DJ under different names, including YASS.B and MARS.79.

The next step came in the mid-2000s. Between 2005 and 2007, he was involved in organizing Techno Trance Party 1 & 2 in Oran. At a time when Raï remained the dominant musical culture locally and Trance and Techno were still relatively underground, these events brought together hundreds of people, including university students, friends and electronic music enthusiasts.

In 2009, another important chapter followed with TRANCE UNITED, an electronic music event around the Santa Cruz area of Oran, gathering approximately 3,000 people. It was an outdoor Trance event held at the top of the city, creating a unique space and moment dedicated to high-frequency Trance music.

After this event, however, organizing further Trance events became increasingly difficult. Over time, the friends and people involved in the scene went their separate ways, each following different paths and personal objectives in life. The events stopped, but the passion for electronic music never did.

COSMOVOYA continued listening, exploring and staying connected to Trance and the underground electronic scene throughout this period, until the journey eventually moved into a new phase: music production.

Production is the purest expression of love and musical taste.
